Your Baby’s Care Team
The most experienced specialists artfully combine high-tech care with high-touch care to improve your baby’s health
If you give birth to a sick or premature baby, you can feel confident knowing that your baby will receive care from a team of the most highly-trained and most experienced critical care specialists in the area. The NICU team actively incorporates the advances of neonatal science into the art of neonatal intensive care. To constantly improve the care we offer, the NICU team performs advanced clinical research.
NICU specialists will not only provide the most advanced life-saving treatments for your baby, but also do so in the gentlest and caring manner, taking every step possible to ensure your baby’s comfort. The NICU staffs six full-time neonatologists (doctors who specialize in the care of sick newborns) and five neonatal nurse practitioners. These specialists are on site 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, so they can respond immediately to your baby’s needs at any time of the day or night. These on-site specialists are also available around the clock to answer your questions and address your concerns.
To enable you to feel comfortable with your baby’s doctor as quickly as possible, the same physician will care for your baby until discharge. This primary doctor will consult with the entire NICU team several times a day to ensure the best care possible. The NICU team includes respiratory therapists, speech therapists, ethicists, a chaplain, occupational therapists, dietitians, and social workers—all of whom provide the experience and compassionate care that infants and their families need.
